Little People Big Voices

Our pre-instrumental music classes “Little People Big Voices” for ages 4 to 7 provide a fun and enjoyable introduction to music and music-making within a nurturing, creative, engaging and inclusive environment.

Drawing on a variety of education principles and methodologies, the course fuses the teachings of Zoltan Kodaly and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, fostering a deep, with particular focus on vocal and aural development through singing, musical games and movement.

Classes take place each week in Clontarf GAA Hall on Monday & Tuesday afternoons. Please view our class schedule below for further information.

Develop a Joyful Connection With Music

With music, one’s whole future life is brightened… Zoltan Kodaly

Little People Big Voices classes take a child-centred approach, with a particular focus on creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where all needs and abilities are catered for and nurtured.

Using Kodály’s ‘sound before symbol’ approach, we tap into the magic of singing as the gateway to musical discovery. Before diving into notes and theory, we focus on the pure, expressive power of the voice, helping children to connect deeply with music. Singing is at the heart of our classes, where children naturally absorb essential musical skills like tonic solfa and rhythm – the foundation of musical language – all while having fun!

I know, because I have experienced.Émile Jaques Dalcroze

We bring music to life through movement with Dalcroze Eurhythmics, making every beat, rhythm, and note an experience your child can feel in their body. Through playful movement, dance, and musical games, children are learning without even realising it! This dynamic, hands-on approach makes learning both meaningful and fun.

Our commitment goes beyond just teaching music – we’re here to nurture your child’s entire musical journey. Each class is an opportunity for creative exploration, where kids can experiment with instruments, dive into melody, pitch, and rhythm, and express themselves with confidence. We believe in giving children the freedom to explore and create, fostering a genuine love for music that will last a lifetime.

At Little People Big Voices, we also introduce our students to a rich and varied repertoire of musical styles, from folk and classical to jazz, pop, and world music. This diverse exposure not only broadens their horizons, but also helps them to discover new passions.

Our goal is to create core music memories that your child will carry with them forever. We’re not just teaching notes and rhythms – we’re inspiring a lifelong connection to music, and we cannot wait to share this journey with you.
